Pinon Hills Fire

Photos and details are available on the Incident Detail Page for this fire. A 200 to 300 acre brush fire is burning near the communities of Pinon Hills and Wrightwood. The fire, named the "Springs Fire," was first reported by CHP at 3:40 PM, Monday afternoon. Within an hour the fire had spread to 200 acres burning chapparal and grasses. The was lying down by nightfall and was 30% contained. Crews made significant progress on the fire overnight. SR-2 between Wrightwood and SR-138 was reopened by 10:30 PM Monday.
