Head's up - you're about 50 feet from bubbles (location of diver underwater).
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: Lake IC   To: To diver
You feel comfortable about it? {Yep} You got the same water depth that you had before? {Affirm - 27 feet}. Okay - I need all boats out of this area, I've got a diver going in the water, and this area cannot be breeched.
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: 40 King 1   To: Lake IC
8 - Charlie Tac 1 will be the coordinated frequency for everybody working out there.

Get ahold of the Sheriff and get his take on the dive; we have one dive member on scene already and need an ETA for the rest of them.
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: Boat 49?
We need the area cleared; San Bernardino County has the jurisdiction over the dive on my boat; we need the pelican located and we're going in.
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: Lake IC
I need all Lake Patrol units on scene, here, now.
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: Dispatch
Per Lake IC, the ICP (Incident Command Post) will be at the MWD.
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: 40-King   To: Lake IC
We're going to use 8-Fire Ground 1 for this incident. Do you know how many dive team members we have coming?

{Transcriber Note: There is considerable confusion trying to coordinate frequencies on which Lake Patrol can communicate with the helicopter and other units.}
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: Lake IC   To: To Dispatch
Would like an additional ground ambulance to stage at the MWD - we need to get firefighters out here ASAP; are they right there? {Affirm - they're sitting on the edge of the patrol dock.}
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: Lake Patrol
We need to get these other boats out of here - anything within 500 feet around this pelican (buoy).
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner
{Traffic seems to indicate a second helicopter is being diverted to pick up a dive team in the desert area.}
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: Boat 49   To: 40-King
The point of entry is right where that white buoy is - we're going to need a grid search all around it. Boat 49 is that pontoon boat with the red flashing lights on it.
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner
{Transcriber note: Sherrif's helicopter 40-King is on scene to assist with search for victim.}
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: Lake Patrol   To: SBSO
There are pelican (?) bouys around the area where the victim was last spotted, and patrol boats circling the area; have 40-King start there.
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: Lake Patrol   To: Lake Patrol
You're going to have (unit) 621 heading your way momentairly - that might be a good contact point for the family. {Response: Affirm - is that Big Bear Marina?} Negative, that will be Big Bear Shores (North Shore Dr.)
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner  From: MA291   To: To Dispatch
Staging at MWD (Municipal Water District, Lakeview Dr.)
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner
Engine 49 from Fawnskin responding; unclear where units are staging; dive team units are gathering.
Fri 7/3 Source: other
Transcriber Note: Initial traffic on this incident was sketchy; unknown if this is a result of boating incident, or other accident.
Fri 7/3 Source: scanner
{Late Entry} Lake Patrol units, Big Bear Lake Fire units and BC Paramedics responding to report of possible drowning; location given only as "middle of the lake." Lake Patrol unit 311 is reporting RP is unable to locate a 33 year-old male in the water who may have been "under" 5-10 minutes.
